International Students

Cardiff University has a long tradition of welcoming international students. With over 3,500 international students currently studying at Cardiff, representing over 100 countries, the University has a multi-cultural environment.

Cardiff Law School very much welcomes applications from international students. All applications must be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) online application system. Please refer to How to Apply for details of the application process.

The Law School is one of the largest and most consistently successful in the U.K. It has an international reputation for excellence in both teaching and research, and attracts students from across the U.K. and from more than 25 countries world-wide. North America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia, are well represented with a number of students coming from, in particular, Canada, the Bahamas, Malaysia and India.

Approximately twenty percent of the School’s undergraduate intake comprises international students, and there are currently around 400 international students enrolled on its undergraduate or postgraduate programmes.

A Complete Education in Law

In an increasingly ‘globalised’ world which emphasises specialisation in the international context you can be assured that studying at Cardiff will help you to play your part. We will provide you with the skills to adapt within an ever-changing legal profession in whatever country you intend to practise.

All over the world Cardiff Law School graduates occupy key positions in the legal profession, commerce, industry and government. Our reputation for excellence continues to grow and this enhances the opportunities available to our graduates.

We are an old established university, but unlike almost all others, we are able to offer you the complete legal education package. You can enrol as an undergraduate, and later progress to obtain a barrister’s or solicitor’s qualification on our Bar Vocational or Legal Practice Courses. Alternatively, various other postgraduate law degrees offered by Cardiff are open to you. There is no need to move away from Cardiff to complete your U.K. based education. We also guarantee convenient university accommodation for the entire period of your study.
