English Language Requirements and Assistance

All students studying at Cardiff University must be able to demonstrate a minimum level of competence in English Language. For those without a GCSE pass at Grade C or above in English, Cardiff University’s preferred test of English language competence is IELTS. For applications to all LLB degree programmes, Cardiff Law School requires a minimum of 6.5 in each area of the IELTS examination (or equivalent qualification).

Cardiff Law School runs an English Language Support Programme for international students whose first language is not English.

Cardiff University's International Development Division provides advice and guidance to international students who are thinking of studying in the UK, have applied for a course or are already studying at the University.
