Taking you further

Established in 1992, the Centre for Professional Legal Studies at Cardiff Law School is a leading provider of legal training. We are the only Russell Group University validated by the professional bodies (the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board) to offer both of the main vocational training courses for the profession.

We have delivered the LPC since it was first introduced in 1993 and have established a national reputation for a demanding and high quality course. Our course has consistently achieved the Solicitors Regulation Authority's (formerly the Law Society) highest grade for over 10 years and is available on a full and part-time basis.

Apply to the full time course through the Centre Applications Board at www.lawcabs.ac.uk. or apply for the part-time course.

We have delivered a high quality and highly regarded BVC since the BVC was first introduced by the Bar Council in 1997.

We have recently been validated by the Bar Standards Board to provide the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) from September 2010.

The Centre is also home to a Professional Development Unit, through which we provide other courses for the profession, such as the Police Station Representatives Accreditation Scheme, and the Criminal Litigation (Duty Solicitor) Accreditation Scheme.
