Introduction
Charles completed all his general education in France and obtained a Scientific Baccalauréat in 2006. He acquired an undergraduate law degree from the Faculté de Droit et des Sciences Politiques de Nantes in France (Mention Assz Bien) in 2009. He also holds both French and British First Class master degrees in Law: an LL.M from Cardiff Law School (81%) and a Masters in European Economic Law from Nantes (mention Très Bien, 17/20). He was also awarded a stage at the Internal Market and Services Directorate General of the European Commission in 2011, though he chose to undertake doctoral studies at that time instead.
Having grown up in a distinctly Anglo-French environment, he has had a rising interest in European Integration. An interest he has focused on during most of his studies in higher education, and one which he is currently pursuing at the doctoral level under the supervision of Dr Jo Hunt.
His research interests and thesis relate to improving the efficiency of European market integration, achieving greater levels of legal certainty, and ensuring that the benefits of integration reach the citizens, through a better understanding of how to reconcile Uniformity and Diversity.
