Introduction

David Glass has been a lecturer at Cardiff since 1977 having graduated with an LLB from the University of London (having studied at the then Kingston Polytechnic) in 1972 and having obtained an LLM, also from London, in 1974. He has lectured and tutored in several subjects over the years but currently tutors in Sale of Goods and Agency and lectures and tutors in International Sales and the Law of Carriage of Goods which are provided as options on the LLM International Commercial Law Route.   He is also the current Route Convenor of the LLM International Commercial Law Route.


His research interest lies generally in the law of carriage of goods with particualr interest in freight forwarding, international carriage of goods by road and multimodal transport. His main publications include : 'The Divided Heart of CMR,' (1979) 14 European Transport Law, 687-720; Introduction to the Law of Carriage of Goods, with C. Cashmore, Sweet and Maxwell, 1989; Contracts for the Carriage of Goods, (ed. D Yates), Part 6 (Multimodal Transport) and Part 7 (Freight Forwarding), LLP, 1993, Hill and Messent's CMR : Contracts for the Carriage of Goods by Road, 3rd ed. with A. Messent, LLP 2000 and Freight Forwarding and Multimodal Transport Contracts 2004, informa. Several articles of his have also been published in Lloyd's Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly and Shipping and Transport International. For this last journal he is also a member of the advisory panel.
