Introduction
LL.B. (Wales). Ian is Director of the Centre for Professional Legal Studies at Cardiff Law School. He has overall responsibility for all CPLS activities including the Bar Vocational Course, Legal Practice Course and Professional Development Unit. For several years Ian was Course Leader for the LPC. He is the course leader for the compulsory course in Property Law and Practice and is a member of the team responsible for the elective course in Commercial Property. Ian has been a member of the Joint Academic Stage Board, a member of and Reporting Assessor for the Law Society/SRA Monitoring Panel for the Legal Practice Course and a member of various LPC working parties. He is an external examiner for the LPC and for the Qualified Lawyers’ Transfer Test. Born and brought up in Doncaster, Yorkshire, Ian graduated in 1977 and qualified as a solicitor in 1983. For several years, he combined practice with teaching at Cardiff. He was appointed to a lectureship in 1991 and has taught land law, conveyancing, contract law and tort on the LL.B degree programme.
